| March 2010 - Weeting |
| |
|
| |
As part of ongoing consultation for Windfarm proposals through the EIA process, it is standard practice of Enertrag UK to undertake public exhibitions. This gives local residents and interested parties the opportunity to learn more about projects and have questions answered and is important in the planning and development process. Also this procedure is in compliance with the government guidance document ‘Community Involvement in Planning: The Government’s Objectives’.
Currently there are consultation evenings coming up for the sites proposed at Tivetshall and Weeting. More details can be found on the relevant project pages. |
|
| March 2010 - Linton |
| |
|
| |
The public inquiry for Linton Wind Farm has started in South Cambridgeshire due to the refusal of planning permission by Uttlesford District Council and non determination of the application by South Cambridgeshire District Council.
The inquiry will run for approximately one month covering a variety of issues – more details are available on the Linton Project page.

| February 2010 - Wing |
| |
| Scoping Request |
| |
Enertrag UK have submitted a scoping request to Aylesbury Vale District Council for an Environmental Impact Assessment to construct five turbines. The proposed turbines would be situated to the West of the village of Wing, Buckinghamshire and each turbine would have a maximum capacity to generate up to 2 MW of electricity. The turbines would feed electricity into the National Grid through a series of underground cables.
Once a scoping opinion has been received from Aylesbury Vale District Council, work will begin on an Environmental Impact Assessment which is anticipated to take around 1 year to complete. When this work is completed, Enertrag UK will look to submit a planning application for the proposed development.
For further details, see the Wing project page. |

| February 2010 - Hempnall |
| |
|
| |
Present status
Enertrag UK has now reviewed the appeal decision to refuse the seven wind turbine wind farm at Hempnall; as submitted to South Norfolk District Council,. Following discussions with South Norfolk District Council (SNDC), Enertrag UK is proposing to resubmit a planning application for a four wind turbine wind farm on the site. This takes guidance from the Inspectors comment that “…there is capacity for wind energy development at Hempnall…” (paragraph 85 Appeal Decision Notice).
Enertrag UK will conduct a review of the Environmental Impact Assessment previously completed, and carry out further surveys as required and in agreement with statutory consultees and SNDC. There will be opportunity for public consultation throughout the review process, and further information will be distributed to the community when available. Only after completion of these surveys and consultations will the planning application be submitted.

Hempnall - Appeal Dismissed
|
|
| February 2010 - Guestwick |
| |
| New Application at Guestwick |
| |
Enertrag UK have substantially altered the scale and layout of the site; with all turbines being repositioned north of Skitfield Road. The site now consists of 3 turbines rather than the 6 previously applied for. More details can be found on the Guestwick project page.
We believe that the 50% reduction in turbine numbers and the revised layout will address many of the issues raised with the previous application. Scoping feedback from Broadland District Council is expected by the middle of January 2010. This will enable us to incorporate any elements of particular importance to the local authority within the Environmental Statement (ES) produced as a part of the new planning application. |
|
| December 2009 - Tivetshall St. Mary |
| |
| Change to site proposal |
| |
Environmental Impact Assessments have been long running at Tivetshall in order to thoroughly investigate the environmental conditions around the site. Subsequent to the findings and consultations to date, Enertrag UK have substantially altered the site layout. More details can be found on the Tivetshall project page, but now the site consists of 3 turbines rather than 6. This will significantly reduce potential impact especially from a visual perspective. |

| Planning Application Refusal |
| |
On 25th June 2009 Uttlesford District Council gave notice of the decision to refuse planning permission for one wind turbine on the Linton site, within the Uttlesford district, which is part of the overall 8 turbine Linton scheme. South Cambridgeshire District Council were due to determine the planning application for the other 7 turbines on the site, however failed to do so by the allocated time of 24th June 2009. Enertrag UK have lodged an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate against the decisions made by both District Councils. Currently dates are being agreed between Enertrag and the Local Planning Authorities, although an inquiry is expected for Spring 2010. Please refer to the Linton project page for more details in due course. |
