March 2008 – Baumber Wind Farm

PUBLIC CONSULTATION EXHIBITION

Enertrag UK will be holding a public consultation exhibition on 14th May 2008 from 3pm-8pm in Baumber Village Hall.  Members of the local community are invited to drop in to take a look at the information boards.  The Enertrag UK team will be on hand to answer queries and discuss issues surrounding the proposed Baumber Wind Farm.

November 2007 – Baumber Wind Farm

Enertrag UK have sent a scoping request to East Lindsey District Council for an Environmental Impact Assessment to construct a wind farm in Baumber, Lincolnshire.  The proposal is on arable land to the south west of Baumber and will consist of eight turbines which will feed electricity into the National Grid through a series of underground cables.

Once Enertrag UK have received the scoping back from East Lindsey District Council they will begin the Environmental Impact Assessment.  As part of this the local community will have opportunity to demonstrate their views through a public consultation process.

April 2007 – Linton Wind Farm

Enertrag UK have submitted a scoping request for an Environmental Impact Assessment to construct a wind farm on land south west of Linton, Cambridgeshire.

The proposed wind farm will consist of eight turbines each with the capacity to generate up to 3MW of electricity.  The turbines will be a maximum of 85m to the hub and the rotors would be a maximum of 90m in diameter.  The land around the turbines would be flat allowing farming to continue right up to the turbine tower once the wind farm is constructed.

Once the scoping opinion is back from the Council, Enertrag UK will begin work on the Environmental Impact Assessment.

Dec 2006 - North Pickenham Finished!

North Pickenham Windfarm was completed in October 2006 and commissioned during November. Handover of North Pickenham Windfarm from Vestas to Enertrag UK took place on 6 th December 2006.
During the first month of production and while commissioning, North Pickenham Windfarm generated a quantity of electricity equivalent to the amount needed to supply one thousand homes for one year.

September 2006 - Hempnall Wind Farm

Enertrag have submitted a scoping request1 for an Environmental Impact Assessment to construct a wind farm at Hempnall.
The proposed wind farm on land to the NE of the village of Hempnall would comprise of seven turbines each having a maximum output of 3MW. The proposed site layout is shown below. The turbines would generate electricity that would be fed into the national grid via underground cables. Vehicle access routes would be provided between the turbines for construction and maintenance, these would follow current tracks and field boundaries where possible.
Each turbine would be a maximum of 85m high to the hub and the rotors would be a maximum of 90m diameter. The diameter of the tower at the base is approximately 4m. The final arrangement for the foundation will be confirmed once the turbine manufacture is determined. The land around the turbine would be flat as the foundation would be buried. Once construction is complete, the land can continue to be farmed right up to the turbine tower.
